Does sleep coaching mean I will have to let my child “Cry it Out”?No, sleep coaching does not mean letting your child “cry it out”. This is a common misconception and fear among parents and caregivers. Here at Little Knappers Sleep Co, all of our approaches and techniques involve lots of love, support, and guidance throughout the entire journey towards independent sleep. We would NEVER expect you to do anything that you are not 100% comfortable with! With that being said, it is important for parents to understand that with any new change in relation to sleep for a baby, toddler, or preschooler, a natural and expected reaction is some crying as they learn their newfound new skill of independent sleep.

How long will the sleep coaching process take?This is a loaded but common question we get from many parents! Here at Little Knappers Sleep Co, we strive for progress, not perfection! Sleep coaching is a journey not a race! At Little Knappers Sleep Co, we understand that every child and family is unique! Every child has their own personality and temperament. All families have their own unique context and parents have their own parenting philosophies. We create custom sleep plans which are tailored to meet the individual needs of the children and families that we serve. This is KEY in setting up a sleep coaching plan that will be successful! Results come with the assumption that parents have followed all the guidance and support provided by their sleep consultant and are consistently implementing the plan. If you follow the plan, it is to be expected that you will see drastic and positive changes in your child's sleep within two weeks and oftentimes, sooner.

What sleep challenges can you help with?At Little Knappers Sleep Co., we can assist with any sleep related concerns or goals you have for your child! The most common areas we help out with include teaching your child(ren) to sleep through the night, lengthening naps, assisting with schedule adjustments, weaning nighttime feeds, gradually removing sleep associations/sleep crutches and much more!

At what age can I start sleep coaching my child?At Little Knappers Sleep Co, we work with children from birth to 7 years of age. Although there is no right answer as to when sleep coaching should begin, it is imperative that parents are one hundred percent ready to dive fully into the process. If you are not ready that is okay, and we are here for you if and when you decide to start your sleep coaching journey. It is never too late or too early to begin sleep coaching. Sleep shaping can begin at birth where we as your certified sleep consultants will focus on teaching you how to create healthy sleep foundations to get your newborn on the path to independent sleep. Once your child has hit around 16 weeks of age and older we can more formally implement evidence based sleep coaching methods and techniques to improve your child’s sleep.

Can I sleep coach my child if they are still feeding overnight?YES YES YES!!! We will work with you to achieve all your sleep goals while also keeping in mind your feeding goals! If feeding is something you want to do overnight or if it is recommended by your pediatrician, we are fully on board for this and are excited to show you how!

Do you offer medical advice?Little Knappers Sleep Co does not offer medical services, treatment, or advice to clients. Little Knappers Sleep Co is dedicated to helping families navigate and improve their children(s) sleep. If you have any medical concerns regarding the health of your child, you should seek prompt medical attention by either your pediatrician or family doctor immediately.

What Sleep training method do you use?Little Knappers Sleep Co, is not a ONE SIZE FITS ALL approach. We are grounded in the belief that EVERY family and child is unique which means every sleep plan we create is just that…UNIQUE and one of a kind! We use a variety of methods from the most gentle and gradual approaches to more direct and less gradual approaches. We tailor every sleep plan to suit the individual needs of your family and child(ren) based upon the assessment findings during our initial discovery call and intake assessment forms!

How do you tailor your sleep plans?We take the time to fully assess your family context, your parenting philosophy, and the temperament and personality of your child in order to develop a plan where your child will respond in the most optimal fashion and ultimately allow your family unit to thrive and succeed. By understanding your family thoroughly, we can create a plan that is best suited to you and your child’s sleep needs/goals that will work the best based on our valuable knowledge and skills as certified sleep consultants.

Where did you receive your training to become a certified sleep consultant?I received my formal education and training through the Cradle Coach Academy’s Pediatric Sleep Consultant Program. I successfully graduated in October of 2023 with my Pediatric Sleep Consultant Certification. There is no governing body for sleep consultants which means technically, anyone can carry the title of “sleep consultant”, even if they have no formal training or education. Therefore, we urge parents to do their research before hiring a sleep consultant.
